A Musical Connection

Our community shares its name with “Taree” — a track by Seattle rock legends Soundgarden from their 2012 reunion album King Animal. Bassist Ben Shepherd, who once lived in Taree, named the song after our neighborhood.

“I remember moving to Kingston... there was this huge, like, fake Hollywood lettering — 'TAREE' — and it was all totally overgrown.” — Ben Shepherd
